“Recovery doesn’t happen in people; it happens between people”

"My overall experience felt very homely. Being back on the marae hit home for me. I just came in with a positive attitude. The people I got to converse with was very pleasant and I got to make new friends." Tangata Whaiora

At Mana Enhancing STOP we understand the heartache and pain of addiction and the strength that can be gained from successful treatment. We invite you to join our services to walk alongside you in your healing.

Our Services
Tū Taua rōpū

Tu Taua

The name "Tu Taua" was gifted to us by our kaumataua meaning Stand Up and fight against the attack of methamphetamine in our community that is harming our people and destroying our whānau.

Taking on this call to action, we started uniting our whānau through community rōpū and wānanga. These gatherings have become a safe place for collective learning, healing, tautoko and awhi giving strength and resilience to move forward.

Tu Taua services have been empowering our whānau directly and indirectly affected by the harmful effects of methamphetamine and other substances since 2017 and continue to grow.

Prison Reintegration Services

Me Mahi Tahi Tātou – Prison Reintegration Support

Trevor reintegration.jpg

Me Mahi Tahi Tātou is a reintegration service suppoted by Ara Poutama Aotearoa, Department of Corrections. Our kaimahi connect with tangata whaiora and their whānau across multiple Corrections facilities. We meet with tangata whaiora  both in person and through audio-visual link to build trust to provide holistic reintegration support.

Our sustained presence in the prisons prepares participants for a successful return to the community where we provide continuity of care and support them through this often-difficult transition.

Out of Gate Reintegration Support for High and Complex Needs

Mana Enhancing STOP is now provides the Out of Gate service to support tangata whaiora with high and complex needs returning to the Bay of Plenty from prison. We walk alongside tangata whaiora and their whānau to support a safe and meaningful return to the community, helping them meet their six pillars of reintegration.

These pillars include:

  1. accommodation

  2. health

  3. life-skills

  4. education

  5. employment

  6. whānau and community connection

We can work alongside whānau who have spent at least 30 days remanded in custody receiving a community-based sentence, or who have served a prison sentence of any length of time and need a lot of reintegration support when released.
